RKF Engineering Services was engaged by our client, a mining company located in the Bowen Basin, Queensland to conduct inspection and engineering assessments of ten critical bridges in accordance with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads Structures Inspection Manual. 

Structural inspections were completed to determine the current condition of each bridge prior to complete engineering assessment of the structures. Each bridge provided for a unique challenge with some bridges over public roads and rail lines and other bridges used for heavy mine dump trucks. 

Full engineering analysis and load limits were developed for each bridge and are currently being used to inform the client on the criticality of defects identified during scheduled inspections and to expedite repair of those defects that are critical to the load carrying capacity of the bridge.
