Position Scope

We are seeking a motivated Graduate or 4th year civil engineering student to join our newly established Mackay office.

Working 1-2 days per week around your study commitments or full-time for graduate, this is a fantastic opportunity to build upon your university studies and develop practical engineering skills and experience working on a range of interesting structural engineering projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with our design team and be provided with one on one mentoring, on the job training and development opportunities and visit construction sites to learn from our project engineers in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design computations for a variety of structures, becoming familiar with company design procedures, Australian Standards and a range of construction techniques.
• Assist in the preparation of construction documents.
• Assist in developing operational and capital expenditure budgets.
• Assist in preparing fee proposals and schedules of work.
• Attending visits to sites for inspections, condition audits and surveys

Selection Criteria

Whilst there will be on-the-job training and the opportunity for career progression, the successful applicant will ideally:

• be in their final year or have recently completed a civil engineering degree.
• possess strong organisational skills and the desire to learn.
• have a strong attention to detail and take pride in their work.
• be currently residing in Australia and have Australian working rights or Citizenship.
• have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• be fluent in written and spoken English.
