Position Scope

We are seeking a Cathodic Protection Technician or Tester with at least five years’ experience to join our team.

This is an opportunity to further develop your cathodic protection (CP) skills and gain experience working on a wide range of projects.

You will be involved in inspecting and commissioning CP systems installed on critical mining, port and transport infrastructure across Australia. You’ll also gain invaluable experience on site, conducting condition assessments and audits under the direction of experienced structural engineers and senior CP professionals. 

This is a client facing role that requires strong technical acumen and highly developed communication and interpersonal skills. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct annual CP system audits, complete fault finding and adjustments to ensure full CP is being provided to targeted areas 
  • Prepare documentation for CP based concrete repairs 
  • Commission CP systems 
  • Preparation of reports 
  • Conduct concrete and steel condition audits 

Selection Criteria

Whilst there will be on-the-job training and the opportunity for career progression, ideally you will have:

  • Degree/Diploma in engineering or electrical trade qualification 
  • Have completed or be willing to complete NACE Level 1 and 2 CP Technician Certification  
  • Current open and unlimited Australian drivers licence 
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing
  • Marine Security Identification Card (highly advantageous) 
  • Australian citizen, Permanent Resident or equivalent working rights in Australia
  • Willingness to travel to complete site work where required 
  • Demonstrate the willingness and capability to grow our cathodic protection business with oil and gas clients and government agencies
